It’s interesting how a little shaking can make things more immersive.
To tell the truth, I had never even really noticed how many games used screen-shake effects. But, it’s one of those things that becomes much more apparent once you’ve thought about it.
So, I added a little bit of noise to the camera position of my demo when a player explodes. The effect is surprisingly pleasing.
Beyond that I’ve not done much coding lately. The only other work done is that I added keyboard controls to the Ruminate menus. I also started to add a statistics/intermission screen, but for some reason the scene isn’t rendering (I think it’s rendering under the background and I haven’t been motivated enough to debug it yet). Maybe I’ll do that tomorrow.
